Attack Attack!: Someday Came Suddenly

11th November 2008 | by Brad Kelly

Ok guys, I’m breaking the fourth wall here.

Go now and listen to one song by these guys. HERE.

Ok done?

Right, now I’m really not at liberty to rate this review, I think it’d be unfair as 0/10’s are a little too harsh to give out if you don’t respect the genre. Instead, I’ll be reviewing from multiple different "fan" stand-points.

Ok, fourth wall rebuilt.

Fightstar fan:

Right, I get the shredding guitars and quiet/loud dynamic, I get the harsh/soft vocals and the huge heavy breakdowns but what in the name of Charlie Simpson are those euro-pop breaks about? Really? And yeah, I get the tame backing vocals but do you really need to sound like a deaf Patrick Stump all the fucking time!?

Enter Shikari fan:

Shiiiiit. You guys sound so angry! Like really angry, too angry. And those guitars, they're so angry! Loving the backing vocals though, and those awesome euro-pop breaks. Its like the most hardcore disco I’ve ever been to!

Interpol fan:

…….Are you kidding me?

Idiot Pilot fan:

Ok so some times you scream well and sometimes your beats sound solid but you’re all literally homosexual.

(Screw it) My opinion:

This is not post-hardcore, this is not screamo, pop, emo, scene, rave, electro, nothing, this is a travesty to music and a showcase of everything wrong with music today. Take from that list and from the one song you heard previously and decide a score for yourselves because from where I’m standing this is still a…

You changed it?

I demand that my zero for Cobra Starship be reinstated if this is indeed the case. Typical ain't it, new blood in the company and they've used the 10 and the 0 within the first month.

Maybe you should change the image for "0 stars" into the promotional photograph for the Starship?

The Interpol one made me laugh out loud.

Don't worry Aidan, Cobra Starship is the first shining example of a no grade album, this one just happened to hit the 0 aswell.

Although, giving a 0 instead of a full on 10/10 is less of a crime no?

Neither would be considered a crime. I agree with both 0 and 10 absolutely.

Your all jerks and I hate you. I've been listening to this band for years and they inspire me to become a better person.

Your all a bunch of jerks.

... ha! Imagine if I was like that!

Dude, this cd isnt as great as i had hoped, but 0/10????

Yea, most of the songs blow, but there are a couple great songs on here, most notably, their more famous ones back wen they were just some obscure post-hardcore band from the ohio scene. Im talkin about Stick Stickly, and The Peoples Elbow mostly

Coming soon: the all-new Strange Glue. Where every album gets a ten out of ten, but we only cover two albums each year.

On the plus side, the size of those babies will be pushing 1GB per page. Observe as we consider the benefits of following a C# with a G-sus diminshed chord within the context of the third minute and seventh second of the twelfth track. With additional commentary by Lorraine Kelly.

This is the best CD I've heard in a while.

The songs are intricately put together, and the lyrics are inspiring.
