British Sea Power Live at SxSW 2008 - Maggie Mae

Zoo Festival Powered By British Sea

26th March 2008 | by Aidan Williamson

Were you sitting at your desk/table/cubicle/artillery turret today and thinking, "There really isn't enough choice with regard to festivals this year!" Then fear not, for the first edition of the Zoo Thousand will hit the South-East of England this year, or Kent to be precise.

The new festival takes place from July 4-6 at the Port Lympne Wild Animal Park in Kent. Organisers are planning for an estimated attendance of 60,000 people (although on-site camping is only available for 20,000), and we all know, if you estimate them, they will come.

Events as such live and die by their line-up, so in this regard, Zoo have bagged performances by The Cribs, British Sea Power, Does It Offend You Yeah?, Lethal Bizzle, The Rascals and The Rascals. Bloc Party are also down on the list, but only for a DJ set so far.

For each ticket purchased, a donation will be made to the Aspinal Foundation charity to help pay for the keeping of the animals at the Port Lympne Wild Animal Park as well as various animal rescue and rehabilitation projects elsewhere around the globe.
