The BBC has lost two high profile guests this Friday evening after the corporation was forced to suspend the presenter of their flagship chat show 'Friday Night with Jonathan Ross'. The Killers and Disney teen star Miley Cyrus were due to appear on this week's installment.
47-year-old Jonathan Ross (OBE) was suspended from all of his shows on the TV
Living in USA, we get to see the tapes of the Fri Nite w/JR show. We always enjoy and look forward to them.
When a show is pre-recorded, it is the editor's job to cut out the parts that don't belong. Blame the editor, not the stars. The show was not live and the remarks should have been edited out.
If the BBC doesn't correct for their errors in suspending the stars, Brand and Ross will get better jobs on satellite TV. That's what happens in the USA- HBO, Showtime, Bravo, etc, etc., have become homes to many who spew blue-ish comments...our regulators (FCC) do not control paid for subscription TV>
Good luck to both Brand & Ross - you'll land on your feet and increase your pay and audience as a result of the BBC's stupidity.
I am very sorry that "friday night with jonathan ross " was suspended as it was one of the best programes on Friday night which all the family used to watch.I am 71 years old but still enjoy J.R. SENSE OF HUMOUR altough I find that his behaviour was childish but he has apologised and I am sure he regrets his action. Please bring him back!!!!!!!!!!!
I used to watch Jonathan Ross every Friday night on my sofa with a bottle of wine. Being a teacher of kids with additional support needs,I'm too tired to go out.I stopped watching him some weeks ago and watch dvds instead. He had become too careless and self-important and seemed to feel that American visitors'shocked response to swearing meant that he was cutting-edge in some way.His attitude to female guests had begun to seem sleazy.I am worried that the response to his silly behaviour is dividing in terms of age.My kids (31 and 33)lost faith in him a year before I did.It is not about age. It is not about freedom of speech.People like me who laughed their legs off at Bill Hicks and Lenny Bruce only pity people like Ross and Brand , who appear to confuse arrested adolescent offensiveness with humour.I respect Mr. Brand for resigning. (I have a son with bi-polar disorder and know that he would be unable to shut up when on a comic roll, especially when egged on by someone older and more successful.)Russell is now funnier than Mr. Ross and has behaved better .The wee slapper's career'
