Radiohead Ask Fans To Consider Carbon Footprint

02nd May 2008 | by Ross Riley

Radiohead have already made headlines with their efforts to promote greener touring and in a statement posted on the band's website today, it seems they're extending the effort to fans.

The statement reads: "After the Radiohead commissioned report by Best Foot Forward was published, a lot of questions were asked about the way that we tour. The main issue is how the audience moves to and from the show. With the location and public transport links now a more significant factor when choosing venues, fans are being encouraged to think about alternative ways of travelling."

It appears that Radiohead are going to start engaging fans and including them in the planning for future tours.

The statement continues: We can dream up new schemes and come up with the resources, but it requires each and every one of us to participate for the whole thing to work. Let's start a debate. Things will only change on a global scale if the customer demands it.

May we be the first to suggest that free Segway transportation for all Radiohead fans be implemented throughout the tour.
