Electro-indie poppers The Postal Service, have declared that a follow up to 2003's iconic 'Give Up', may never actually happen.
One half of the Postal Service duo certainly seemed more focussed on the day job. Ben Gibbard told Spinner: "It's just not a priority for either of us. So the next Postal Service record may or may never happen. Jimmy and I are still throwing ideas back and forth, but as time goes on, we find ourselves busy with our own music.
"We have some stuff, but it's been difficult to find the time and the drive to do the record. I'd love to finish it at some point and maybe even do some performances. If it's meant to be, it's meant to be."
Their debut album remains the number two best selling record on the Sub Pop imprint, behind Nirvana's 'Bleach'.
Death Cab For Cutie release their next album 'Narrow Stairs' on May 12th (May 13th - USA).
^^^^ Tell me about it. Postal Service album is probably my all-time favourite album, it's never hard to go back to it. Still at least we have a Death Cab album to look forward to
It's good news i reckon. Given Dntel's work since i think any new album would be a dissapointment.

Damn, that really sucks. I love Ben Gibbard and prefer The Postal Service to Death Cab for Cutie. I was really looking forward to a follow-up album ever since I heard about their plans for it. I guess I'll just have to settle for "Narrow Stairs".
