Following on from the enormous success of their recent stint as curators of the ATP festival, Portishead are to embark on their first tour in ages.
In fact, the band have retreated from the spotlight for the last decade, only this year poking their heads out with album number three. The tour currently has four confirmed dates, which will hit three major cities and [double take] Wolverhampton. All dates will be in April.
In a blatant display of favouritism toward their own fans, the band will be offering up gig tickets to members of their mailing list from Wednesday, (Jan 23) they will go on general sale to the public on Friday. (Jan 25)
The third album of Portishead is slated for a March release, which the tour will serve to promote. The dates are:
Apr 09 - Manchester @ Apollo
Apr 10 - London @ Hammersmith Apollo
Apr 12 - Edinburgh @ Corn Exchange
Apr 13 - Wolverhampton @ Civic Hall
