While it may not be as bad as the last couple of years when we were losing one festival per week, 2010 has claimed another festival scalp in the form of the Playaway Fest.

The event, due to take place at Butlins in Skegness between April 16-18, has been pulled due to "unforeseen circumstances". This usually translates to either 'we didn't sell enough tickets to cover our costs', or 'all of our bands pulled out'.

Speaking of bands, the shindig was due to include sets from the likes of Calvin Harris, Futureheads, Scouting For Girls, New Young Pony Club and Alphabeat.

Organisers have promised that full refunds will be given if you're unlucky enough to already have a ticket to Playaway. People will need to head to their original point of purchase and yell "show me the money".
