Last week marked a dark day for the usually shiny world of The Pipettes as the last original members of the band left the group to pursue 'other projects'.
Becki Stephens and Rosay Dougall both left the trio, leaving Gwenno Saunders (who in turn replaced Julia Clark-Lowes who quit in 2005 to form The Indelicates) behind to survey the damage.
Saunders was undeterred by her sudden isolation, and quickly sought their replacements. Just like lightning, Saunders' sister Ani and ex-Genie Queen singer Anna Ogg were welcomed into the Pipettes fold.
The new line-up is expected to make its live debut during the summer, when the band are also scheduled to record the follow-up to their debut album "We Are the Pipettes".
