This week saw no less than three entries into the UK top 10 album chart for indie/alternative bands this week. Although Aimee 'Dead Eyes' Duffy stayed at the top spot, Foals came close with a No. 3 slot for their new album "Antidotes".
Further down the list, Raconteurs' "Consolers of the Lonely" came in at No. 8 despite having little in the way of a traditional pre-release fanfare. Just below it entered Guillemots with "Red" which edged Muse's live CD/DVD "H.A.A.R.P" into the final No. 10 slot, down from 2nd on the previous week.
Don't get too excited though people, we still have Nickelback, Panic at the Disco and Leona Lewis skating around in the decagonia.
In the darker reaches of the album chart, Does It Offend You, Yeah? took No. 48, MGMT slid to No. 49 and Mystery Jets entered at No. 50. The Joy Division "Best Of..." album, meanwhile, only managed to muster a new entry at No. 63.
