Ibiza Rocks To The Monkeys

14th May 2007 | by Gavin Riley

Ibiza Rocks is back for its third year as it aims to put indie rock firmly on the map, and at a launch party today (15/5/07) at 6:30pm, the Arctic Monkeys and Kasabian will be amongst a host of bands set to play at beachside venue, 'Bar M' in Ibiza.

Scottish sensations, The View, will kick off this years shenanigans on 19th June. It'll be a welcome return for the four lads from Dundee who debuted at the Ibiza Rocks mini festival last year. CSS are confirmed for 10th July.

Kasabian rocked Ibiza last year, and as an added bonus for fans, they'll play two nights running on 16th and 17th July. LCD Soundsystem bring their eclectic mix of bass & house to the party island on 18th July. Coventry's The Enemy will take centre stage on 31st July.

One of Europe's commercial success stories, Mika, will play host to his eccentric brand of pop when he plays on 7th August.

After an amazing year so far, the Arctic Monkeys will play in front of just 700 people as they rock Ibiza with a very special performance on 1st September.

And, bringing up the rear, the hairy ones themselves, those Fratellis will bring the mini-festival to an end as the Brit Award winners bring down the curtain and hopefully the house on Ibiza Rocks (3rd & 4th September).

Long-standing Ibiza Rocks DJ, Zane Lowe, will be back playing a live set from the island, and he'll be joined by fellow DJ's Rob Da Bank and Mark Ronson.

If you cant make it across, or you'd rather sit around at home, Channel 4 will once again be providing coverage of the best bits.

More acts will be confirmed, but fo now the line-up looks a little like this:

19 June 2007 - The View
