Following the near-death of ex-Blink 182 drummer Travis Barker, it seems that the three former members of the pop-punk band have rekindled their friendship.
The trio haven't spoken together since they decided to discontinue the band back in 2005. Earlier this year, the aeroplane that Barker was on board, crashed on take-off killing four people and leaving Barker and a friend with serious burns.
Posting on his personal blog: himynameismark, Mark Hoppus directly addressed the issue of a possible reunion, insisting that although it's not out of the question, the three very much need to work on repairing their friendship first. He said:
"In the midst of everything else that has happened lately, Tom, Travis, and I have all spoken together. first through a number of phone calls, and then a couple of weeks ago we all hung out for a few hours. they’ve all been great, very positive conversations. we’re just reconnecting as friends after four years of not talking. it’s a good thing. obviously the first question for a lot of people will be 'does this mean a blink-182 reunion?' the answer is none of us know. we haven’t talked about it at all. right now it’s just good for the three of us to see one another, reconnect, and let the past be the past. the events of the past two months supersede everything that happened before. life is too short."
Currently the former members are split into two bands. Mark Hoppus and Travis Barker are both members of +44<> whereas Tom DeLonge heads up Angels & Airwaves.
