Future's Bright For Evolution Festival

10th April 2008 | by Aidan Williamson

Crystal Castles, The Whip, Lightspeed Champion, CSS, The Streets, Hercules & Love Affair and New Young Pony Club will all be playing at this year's Evolution Festival in Newcastle-upon-Tyne and Gateshead.

Lest we forget, two more bands are also heading up the line-up, placed in this order for no particular reason. Kate Nash, Does it Offend You, Yeah?.

If you can imagine SxSW finishing off on the Sunday with Glastonbury, you may be a bit disappointed, but you will be on the right track as to the formula of the festival. Evolution consists of a series of one-off events throughout the preceding week such as concerts, seminars and dance parties leading up to a two-stage line-up on Monday, May 26.

Tickets cost £3, plus booking fee. For further information, divert your eyes to this place. Proceeds go to WaterAid (Spreading contagious diseases through your hydration supply since 1981)
