Don't get too excited though, it's only the drummer. That's exactly the kind of disparaging remark you won't be hearing from us. Everyone knows that drummers are people too.
Percussionist Dave Hyde will be joined by Neil Basset of The Golden Virgins for the endeavour which will be going by the name of Hyde and Beast. The release will come through the band's own record label Nul Records.
Futureheads guitarist and vocalist Ross Millard revealed a little of the inspiration which oscillates within Hyde's mind: "[Hyde] is the world’s biggest fan of The Band and The Velvet Underground and a lot of 60's and 70's quirky, almost carnival-esque music," before continuing to state that the recordings he had heard reflected those influences.
"Because it is him," Millard enthuses. "...and it’s got his voice on it and it’s practically all his playing, it’s part of the family now and will be released as such,"
While a release date for the album is yet to be confirmed, 2010 would be a safe bet.
