The Futureheads have revealed they'll be headlining the John Peel Stage at this year's Glastonbury Festival.

In an interview with BBC's Newsbeat, frontman Barry Hyde said they were flattered not just to playing at Glastonbury again, but especially honoured to help carry on the name of John Peel.

It caps off a wonderful last 12 months for the band, the future of which was questioned after they were dropped by their record label just a year ago, but Hyde couldn't mask his delight:

"I hope I haven't just jinxed myself, I'm touching wood as I say this but if we get to do it, it'll be such an honour.

"For us to come back a year after being dropped and headline his tent, will be such an amazing, gratifying experience for us."

Speaking about Peel, he continued: "He's sorely missed and he will be for a long time. He was a true hero of music, a true champion of music."

The Futureheads will release their third album in May. 'This Is Not The World' will be released through their own newly formed label, Nul Records.
