Scottish art-punks Franz Ferdinand have set out plans for a tour within the year 2009. Commencing on February 28 in the town of Limerick, the quartet will spend a brief time in Ireland before heading to the United Kingdom.
Tonight: Franz Ferdinand will be the name of the band's third album which will drop just prior to the tour on January 26, 2009. To say that the album will be diverse would be under-selling the release. Included in the influences will be the heavy dub sounds of Jamaican reggae with the band's drumming citing African percussionists as a huge influence for him on this release. It has also been reported that the song Kiss Me uses a human skeleton for percussion. "Paul Thomson! Stop banging your Coccyx and get some work done!"
Tickets for the shows go on sale this Friday (Dec 12) from 09:30. To purchase yourself a pair, feel free to click the button in the epilogue.
