The Mercury Music Push has smiled down on Elbow. It seems that the resurgence in interest pertaining to the band will propel them into the U.K top 10 album chart this weekend.
Last week, the album was residing at number sixty-one. According to the mid-week sales charts though, it is presently at number nine with a top ten placing virtually a given. "The Seldom Seen Kid" got its official U.K release just under six months ago back on March 17, 2008.
Higher up the chart, a battle is kicking off for the top spot between superb Scottish indie band Glasvegas and U.S Metal kings Metallica. Although the new Metallica has not been officially released, it has slipped through on a 'soft release' with a significant number of retailers selling the album early.
