Doctors "Optimistic" About Deftones Bassist Recovery

Last week we wrote about the tragic car crash that included Deftones bassist Chi Cheng, original article HERE.

After a week of uncertainty, Doctors are now saying they are "optimistic" about Cheng's recovery. A message on the band's website said Cheng, who was in a coma when taken to hospital, had passed the crucial 72-hour mark. The band wrote;

Chi was able to hear and respond to his father's request to move his lower lip,”His father also administered a tendon reflex test, of which both legs responded with movement.

The band also said that Chi's family would like to thank fans for all of their “love and support”.

Deftones have been busy for the last year writing and recording their sixth studio album, 'Eros', which is due out next April.
