CSS Part Company With Bassist

12th April 2008 | by Gavin Riley

CSS will open up their European tour at Cardiff's Great Hall in May as a five-piece, after bassist Ira Trevisan decided to quit the band.

The news broke today on their MySpace page, with the split appearing to be amicable. CSS' drummer Adriano Cintra will take over bass duties, with a session drummer being used for the forseeable future.

Talking about her departure from the band, Ira said "I decided to move forward and dedicate more of my time to fashion and other projects. Just a big change of priorities, as I will never stop playing music.

She also spoke out regarding the constant touring the band have embarked upon, with Trevisan noting the impact flying has on the environment:  "I am also a bit worried about climate change. People should care more and do something about it. I decided to fly less.

"CSS will always be in my heart. They said goodbye to their bass player, but they won a new life time fan. In health and sickness, in happiness and so forth. Blah blah blah, so help us God."

The band also took time out to reassure fans of their future. Indeed, CSS will have a new album out in July, according to the statement, which will go in hand with the folling tour dates:

I dont think climate change has much to do with it, after all she could do so much more from within the band. But anyhoo,i hope she is happy doing whatever she wants to do.

Have your say
