23rd April 2008 | by Ross Riley

Bright Eyes frontman Conor Oberst has announced details of a new solo album that will be released this August on Merge Records.

This album was recorded in Tepoztlán, Morelos, Mexico during January and February this year and was produced by Conor Oberst's long-time collaborator Andy LeMaster.

A special band was assembled for the recording, known as The Mystic Valley Band, who as we reported earlier this month, will be performing live with Conor at several dates this year, including the Reading & Leeds Festvial.

The track list for the album is as follows:

1. 'Cape Cañaveral'
2. 'Sausalito'
3. 'Get-Well-Cards'
4. 'Lenders In The Temple'
5. 'Danny Callahan'
6. 'I Don’t Want To Die' (In The Hospital)
7. 'Eagle On A Pole'
8. 'Moab'
9. 'NYC – Gone, Gone'
10. 'Valle Místico' (Ruben's Song)
11. 'Souled Out!!!'
12. 'Milk Thistle'

Finally, teh world's worst kept secret is out. Please, it was obvious this was gonna happen, what with being confirmed for practically every festival this year.

The burning question is though, is this the end of Bright Eyes as we know it?

ps - If it does happen feel free to quote that remark and abuse me... verbally of course.
