Coachella 2009 Bumped Forward Two Weeks

Next year's Coachella festival will have a fortnight head start it has been announced. It will now take place between April 17-19 at the Empire Polo Field in Indio, California. The line-up will be confirmed early in the new year.

The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival will celebrate its tenth year in 2009. It enjoys a reputation as one of America's premier music events which showcases the best in alternative rock, hip-hop and electronica. Rumours are running rife as to whom will be performing the traditional reunion show of the year. Previous years have seen Daft Punk, Portishead, Rage Against The Machine and Kraftwerk get back together (or tour again) for the kids.

Q Magazine, the best selling music magazine in the U.K have held their annual awards this afternoon. Their highest accolade of 'Best Band in the World' went to Coldplay. On an unrelated note, Fox News have also declared Ronald Regan as the best president of all time.

Oasis will likely reassert their global dominance with seventh album "Dig Out Your Soul" which was originally going to be called "Bag It Up" until Noel Gallagher's girlfriend pointed out that this was a song by Geri Halliwell of The Spice Girls. Not wanting to be attached to a loud-mouthed throwback to outdated music, Gallagher changed the title.
