Support new music: choose from our favourite new albums this month.
When we realised we hadn't used one single Sigur Ros video in our 'Video Of The Week' feature, we almost shot a kitten, we were that upset.
So of course we had to do it this week (we'd end up with a room full of fluff if we didn't) and what a video it is. Taken from the bands 2007 Heima film, this is just one of the many tracks the band play throughout the mesmerizing movie (if you haven't seen it then go and buy it, it'll blow your mind).
The track is Untitled 1 (Vaka) played acoustically and outdoors, behind the barren landscape and mountainous regions of Iceland, the bands country of origin. As a small group gather and watch, sitting comfortably on the mossy green rock and ice-laden hills, the band stand behind their instruments and loose themselves for just under six minutes. The result will leave you breathless.
The almost silent atmosphere coupled with the ever present wind and beautiful music is drastically increased by the awe-inspiring surroundings so have a watch and let us know what you thought by commenting down below.
