With another utterly brilliant and successful long-player under their belts, Mew should pretty damn happy with themselves.
They've consistently delivered their Danish-prog-rock to the masses for some years now and have continued their impressive streak with newest and fifth album No More Stories....
Before that though, came 2005's ...And The Glass Handed Kites and on that rather spectacular record was this track here, The Zookeeper's Boy. Filled with blasting guitars, soaring falsetto vocals and enough alternative musings to satiate anyone with a taste for the heavier side of rock, the track is one of the LP's strongest and displays every strength the group possess flawlessly.
The video below shows the band perform for Yahoo in a plain black room filled with nothing but instruments and the members themselves. It's more about how they make the simple rooms atmosphere come alive than the actual setting though, plus they were allowed to incorporate their own animations into the performance so the end result is, well, a bit trippy to say the least.
Their timing, expert musicianship and gigantic sound is just the tip of the ice-berg and reinforces the fact that each and every one of you should witness these guys live, at least once (this writer will join you).
