In light of Doves recent world domination with their latest record Kingdom Of Rust (our review of it lays HERE), we decided to scour the inter-web for something a little special from the English trio, and boy did we find it.

The track is titled New York (or N.Y.) and is taken from the bands second album The Last Broadcast released way back in 2002. This version is strictly acoustic though, and takes on a much more stripped down, more melodic atmosphere.

The video was shot back in 2001 (eight years ago!) for the music website Launch (now known as Yahoo! Launch if we're not mistaken) and was distributed on a promo CD for the site.

All three of them hold such a reserved, almost shy air about them as they play their individual instruments, which is the direct opposite of how confident and uplifting the actual music is. When watching all three members sit there and focus on just their music; there's a definite new-found sense of respect for their tight musicianship, melody and timing.

Check the video out below and let us know what you thought it by leaving a comment if you so wish.
