Their name is known in almost every corner of the Earth and they've released just two records; Arcade Fire are the true definition of a success story.
In 2004 when their debut record Funeral saw release, the musical world was shook to it's very foundations by an expected, rare gem that earned more than just a few accolades. With ten-out-of-tens and five star ratings a-plenty, the band were in a sticky position; how do you follow up a record that went down in history as one of the best of the decade?
You do exactly what this septet did and follow your musical beliefs and artistic vision and you deliver a record just as coherent and as beautiful as the first. Oh, and you name it Neon Bible.
It's for these reason stated above that we simply had to add the band to our ever growing list of Video Of The Weeks (you can see them all below) and you'd honestly be amazed at what we've found.
This one came close to being featured on these very pages and shows a wonderful rendition of the band playing Wake Up from Funeral with a certain Mr. David Bowie. It's atmosphere and intensity is ridiculous but instead, we went for the subtle over the stupendous.
Yet another Vincent Moon video from French site La Blogotheque (seriously, check it out HERE, they're brilliant) this short, two-minute video shows the entire band playing their sophomore albums title track, Neon Bible in a certain confined space that we won't spoil for you by writing here (a clue; it's been done before, but never like this).
It's the slow zoom of the camera, the pitch-perfect instrumentation and the overall timing that pleases most, coming together to form a wonderful, beautiful atmosphere that rivals its CD counterpart to say the very least.
Once you've given it a watch, let us know what you thought of it, as well as the David Bowie clip, by commenting at the bottom of the page.
