A three piece consisting of two youths, one slightly uncomfortable looking adult and one androgynous band member may compel comparisons to fellow SxSW-ers Hanson, but there was not a bubblegum pop ballad in sight this afternoon.
With songs introduced with statements like “This song is called 'Bushy', it's about how much we hate President Bush.” this group has an attitude that belies their age. Despite still needing some work on their vocals, the trio showed a tremendous amount of spirit and potential.
Don't let the fact that Kate Nash was present and watching the band put you off them, and in case you were wondering, the answers to your questions are : no, no, maybe, yes, and only if the world started revolving backwards.
The afternoons entertainment was rounded off with a rough 'n' ready portrayal of House of Pain's "Jump Around", at which point Ms. Nash heads over to congratulate them on being much better at this music thing than she is.
