SxSW 2008 Live: Ravens & Chimes

One of the problems of playing at 8pm on one of the smaller stages at South By Southwest is that there are aren't too many people about.

Whether it be due to SxSW'ers recovering from the blistering daytime heat or that nobody has gotten the chance to jump on the Ravens & Chimes wagon just yet, it's fair to say Club De Ville is rather depleted when the band take to the stage.

However, as their Arcade Fire-style sound permeates the streets of downtown Austin, the audience numbers begin to swell. And it's with good reason, because this is a band who's stock is in the ascendency.

Songs like 'This Is Where We Are' are a good indicator as to why everyone should have a copy of their debut LP 'Reichenbach Falls', and its a pleasure to see them perform it live in an engaging 40 minute performance.

It's just a shame so few were there to witness it.
