We only catch the tail-end of this set, but it's clear that we've walked straight into a silly-awesome, instrument-switching, neon jungle-beat dance party, and are we ever glad we showed.

Whether you want to love Casiokids or leave 'em, all arguments cower before the genius incarnate in percussion instruments made out of fruit. Our friends singled out Norway's Casiokids from a formidable line-up as a must-see. When the advice leads to feel-good freakadelic tunes like the ones these guys pay out, it's clear that we should trust our friends more often.

Massive kudos to the quirky 'kids for pulling off the near-impossible feat of making a set time at 2.30PM feel like 2.30AM. The best part about this time-warping trick is that after they take their melodramatic stage bows for their smash-hit set, we feel not hungover, but energised and ready to grab Loop by the (beach)balls.

Beach Ball Rating*: Springing into action and ready to bounce, we are filled to bursting with the pineapple-scented air compression of wonked-out Korg basslines and irreverent fun. If that sounds kind of mental to you, then that's just about right.  You really should have been there.  Where were you?!

*We brought the Strangeglue signature beach balls out for their 2009 debut at Loop.  We thought how much fun they had at each show was a fair metric to share.
